A programming platform has been developed for the OPTA Programmable Logic Relays (PLRs), forging new paths towards the future of Industry 4.0.

The platform – which can be found at opta.findernet.com – represents a gateway for anyone wishing to get into industrial automation with OPTA Programmable Logic Relays – developed through the partnership between Finder and Arduino PRO.

Several resources are already available on the platform (such as technical documentation, user guides, videos and software) which are useful not only to explore the features of the world’s first PLR, but also to take the user through the first steps of programming it.

By accessing the platform, the user can:

  • operate an OPTA PLR with the Arduino IDE.
  • understand the functions of the LEDs on the device
  • use the programmable button
  • test the PLR’s inputs and outputs
  • connect the device to the Arduino Cloud

The platform also focuses on the use of various connectivity options as well as the programming of the PLR itself, which can be activated in three modes:

  • locally, with Arduino software (available for Windows, Linux and MacOS operating systems)
  • directly online, by accessing the Arduino web editor
  • with traditional IEC61131-3 languages (IL, LD, ST, FBD and SFC), by downloading
  • the IDE (Integrated Development Environment)coming soon
