The advantages of a low consumption coil – Finder’s type 40.52 miniature PCB/plug-in relay

Where energy saving is paramount, installing components with low power consumption brings several advantages in terms of energy-savings and efficiency.

EVENTS, FAIRS AND MUCH MORE, PRODUCT FOCUS

The standard DC coil of a Finder 40 Series miniature PCB /plug-in relay has an average consumption of 0.65 W, while its ‘sensitive DC coil’ version is rated 0.5 W, which brings energy savings with no negative effect on performance.

Opting for relays with a sensitive DC coil makes it possible, even with medium-sized installations, to reduce the total power consumption of the installed components. This can have a positive knock-on effect regarding the selection of other products within the same installation, such as the option of using a less powerful switch mode power supply, or a smaller filter fan.

Even with a battery power supply, the use of relays with a lower coil consumption can foster greater autonomy and consequently a higher performance. Just a single device can bring energy-savings within an electrical panel or indeed to an entire installation.

One stand-out product is the Type 40.52 relay which has two 8 A changeover contacts and the options of AC, ‘standard’ DC and ‘sensitive’ DC low power consumption coils. This relay also boasts versions with AgSnO2 contacts, capable of high switching performance of loads with high inrush currents (up to 60 A for 5 ms).

The Type 40.52 has a rated ambient temperature range of -40 to +85°C and complies with the glow wire test according to EN 60335-1. The Type 40.52 miniature PCB / plug-in relay is a versatile device than can be used in a wide variety of applications.
