Finder digitizes its products on the BIM&CO catalogue

Finder and 4box products for residential and commercial applications are now on the BIM&CO platform

PRODUCT FOCUS

In the modern construction landscape, the adoption of BIM (Building Information Modelling) represents an important development. A BIM object is not simply a three-dimensional representation of a component, but an intelligent container of technical, physical, and functional information. For technicians and professionals, having BIM libraries means being able to preview how objects look and function within buildings and/or infrastructure, automate metric calculations, and drastically reduce interference errors. In this context, the digitization of Finder and 4box products in the BIM&CO catalogue represents an important milestone in providing targeted support to engineers, architects, and designers.

The path to BIM: from component to 'digital twin'

BIM is not just a marketing strategy, but a tool for total transparency. Unlike traditional 2D CAD files, the BIM model actually ‘communicates’: By inputting a Finder relay or a 4box control into a project, the software automatically updates connection diagrams, maintenance specifications, and costs. This approach transforms the product from a simple object into certified technical data, facilitating the work of designers and facility managers.

The partnership with BIM&CO

To make this vision operational, Finder chose BIM&CO as its strategic partner. The goal was not to find simple file storage, but an ecosystem capable of making Finder and 4box products interoperable and easily accessible to a global community.
Offering multi-format models was a key point of the project. A Finder device must be able to ‘travel’ through different software (such as Revit or Archicad), while maintaining data consistency from the initial concept phase to building management.
Digitizing a catalogue means translating the complexity of an electronic device into a lightweight but information-rich model, and eliminating the risk of sizing errors or incompatibilities. BIM lets you simulate the energy performance and efficiency of a system well before purchasing materials, which fosters the optimization of costs and time.

A look into the future

Thanks to this technology, the future of design will be increasingly based on the exchange of reliable data. Digital content will become the real ‘calling card’ of the product through the development of increasingly intelligent models, using platform usage data to direct production towards the real needs of designers.
