The main focus was on optimizing energy management and identifying anomalies, with the aim of integration into a Renewable Energy Community (REC).
The customer needed to rationalize the use of energy in its production facilities, with the aim of integration into an REC. It became essential to monitor energy consumption in real time, identify any anomalies, and optimize overall energy consumption in order to improve efficiency and sustainability.
The solution involved retrofitting rather than replacing existing CNC machines, and integrating advanced IoT systems and artificial intelligence algorithms for data analysis. OPTA Programmable Logic Relays were installed together with 7M Series energy meters and 6M Series power analyzer products. Interactive dashboards – developed by DNDG – were installed for real-time data visualization and analysis. This solution now makes it possible to determine the company’s energy consumption patterns, identify the energy footprint of individual products and predict future scenarios in order to optimize production and energy consumption.
Retrofitting industrial machines and implementing IoT systems for smart energy management is an effective approach for companies aiming at achieving a functional transition to Industry 5.0. Real-time data visualization and predictive analytics offer a significant advantage in optimizing production and energy consumption, potentially driving the implementation of strategies for improvement at both plant and process levels.
